Study Edge or Tutoring Zone

Hi, I am taking MAC2311 and CHM2045
I took Honors Chem Soph year
Got a 4 on AP calc exam
Should I use study edge or tutoring zone for these classes?
Any insight/experience will be appreciated…Thanks

Study Edge. The tutors there are the originals that came from TZ. Ask any student on campus and they will follow Zach and Rich to the ends of the earth for help in those 2 classes. I asked this question a while back btw… here’s the link:

I used StudyEdge for all my classes freshman year that was offered there. Highly recommend it.

The Teaching Center at Broward Hall is a fantastic resource that is free. Go in and check it out before you spend money on these extra services.

I tried broward and its hit or miss. I know Study Edge has first reviews free with some coupon, so Id use that to try them out too. Definitely worth it.

don’t use anything. Just do the required reading and the homework problems. I got an A in those classes with less work than the people using study edge and what not. The professors write exams based on what they teach and assign, not what study edge teaches.

Gatorphysicsguy, I agree. Also remember that there is no study edge/tutoring zone for most upper level classes, so you might as well get used to doing the work yourself.

One thing about Broward Teaching Center is that you will learn the material. With services like Study Edge, you’re learning the exams. If you take First Year Florida you’ll get an assignment that asks you to interview someone at the teaching center about what services they provide, so go ahead and drop by; they’re very friendly about telling you what they can do to help.

Study Edge is VERY helpful with Calc. Zach, the math and physics guy for Study Edge is both knowledgable and hilarious. He can talk fast at times though, so make sure you pay attention. It helps a little with the understanding of concepts for chem, but no so much with the math. I’ve used Study Edge for 4 classes: I got an A in Calc 1 and Stats 1, a C+ in Chem 1, and a B- in Chem 2.
