Studying Abroad

I’ve heard many rumors of how it is nearly impossible to study abroad at harvard. I was wondering if any of these rumors are true and if anyone would like to share their experiences on studying abroad.

Thanks,

It’s quite possible, it’s just that Harvard is such a magnetic place that not many people do during term-time. (I’m assuming you’re talking taking a semester or year abroad.) My impression is that getting credit is easy; my concentration (in the social sciences) was pushing it as an option, and I know Social Studies has a special semester program with Cambridge King’s College, for one example. So if you want to, it’s there, just Harvard makes it harder to want to than some other places.

And if you’re talking about taking a summer abroad, then the “nearly impossible” thing just becomes completely false. So many people do it (I haven’t yet, but I hope to this summer), and there’s also tons of extra funding available. I think literally 40-50% of my friends were abroad this summer? Some of those were working, but it was not an insubstantial group.

Hey
I’ve done my 0-levels. I took 11 subjects out of which I got 8A’s including 3A*‘s. .I’ve done internships, taken part in declamations, debates and participated in other competitions too.Currently, I’m in the first year of A-level. I’ve taken world history, sociology, economics and maths. Well, I don’t know whether I’ve gone for the right subject choice. I basically want to go to IVY’s league, or probably a renowned university which ACTUALLY polishes my skills, and gives scholarships too. But, I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO? THE ROAD MAP? I don’t know whether my subjects are of scope or not. Which university should I apply to? What should I do in future that earns me a comfortable living, and is prestigious too. I’m afraid because I’ve seen many who work extraordinarily hard but they end up living a miserable life.
Here in Pakistan, we lack counselling. :’( Please help me with sound pieces of advices so that I come out of this mental stress.
God bless you.
