How are you guys coping with the anxiety of waiting for the decisions while having to study? i am currently on spring break… which ends next wed… and i also have 10 APs to study for… and most are self study, and the rest are also considered self study since my teachers don’t teach the material fast enough…

If you’re going premed, get chem, bio and physics, and bc calc studied well. Most humanities things (pol, hist, etc) don’t give you credit/placement unless you’re going for advanced standing. In fact, cancel APs that are of no use at many of the colleges you’re applying to.

I’ve already taken Calc BC, Phy B and C Mechanics, Chem, and Wh last year

This year i have

Stats
Art History - already cancelled.
Econ Mac
Econ Mic
French Lan
Eng Lit
Computer Sc AB
Bio
Eng Lang - thinking of cancelling, and
Phy C E/M

another problem i have is remembering things… even though i got 5’s on those APs… when iwas tutoring a friend calc bc today, i seemed to have forgotten almost every main topic’s central idea and theory… for eg, i don’t even remember how to do volumn questions properly :(

but how are the rest of you finding motivation to study while anxiously waiting for decisions?

Dunno… I have a 4 day break now, and I plan to teach myself as much of BC material I can with a review book, since I’m not taking a BC class. I’ll tell you by the end of the break how well it worked out. I think this studying might be a good distraction from the college stress. My motivation is that if I don’t study, I will completely bomb the AP test, and if I bomb it (I’m taking it against my AB teacher’s wishes), then the whole school board will know, since I’m taking this BC test as the guinea pig for my school, since they’re thinking of adding a BC curriculum for seniors next year. Yep, so gotta get back to studying! (or crack open that first page of the review book, rather)

i haven’t even looked at my books yet… but i will not let my horrible habit of cramming the night before take over!!! although i did get 5’s that way.
hmmm what to do what to do?
i think i might go open a book…or go watch south park. jeje

i’m not going to study intensely until after april 1. it’s incredibly hard to concentrate and unproductive.

haosquared,

i was thinking the same… but it might be too late with all the APs and self study… :(

i’ve got 9 and most are self-study as well. it’s only a one week difference and with good time management (what else do you have to do this time of year as a 2nd semester senior) it’s definitely possible. the thing i’m more concerned about is feeling burned out by the time i start testing during the second week.

I got that burnout after taking 11 ap exams last year :(

I’m probably only going to be taking one or two this year

well, last year i didn’t study, and i got the lovely 5 for all of them, so i think i’ll follow that path again. but good luck to all of you study buddies!

9, 10, 11APs!!! thats insane! Im struggling with 4 APs…Stats, Calc, Phys and Lit. I expect 2 5s and 2 4s…Physics is independent for me and its KILLING me at the moment…

frickin overachievers in this website. jokin

well i guess thats what u need to be if u wanna go to princeton…

not necessarily, just passionate

last year I took 6 ap classes and studied 5 independently
I also took football and orchestra and Youth and Government and boy scouts etc etc

I wanted to test myself to the limit to see what I could do

I’ve taken 6, but I didn’t get all 5s…

So that’s why I’m going back this year to get the grade I deserve!

Overall, I’ll have taken 15 AP exams by the end of my senior year…

I’ve been looking into CLEP, but I’m not entirely sure how its used and whether or not “serious” universities accept it…

I would just take cc courses. thats what I did this year. I took 24 units at my cc for FREE(its free for all ca residents)

That is really weird…I have to pay at my cc…

did they pay for your books, too?

my cheap public school doesnt pay for our AP…they are expensive as hell

im takin 8 this year, have taken 4 already
art hist
latin lit
english lit
eco mac
eco mic
calc bc
comp sci ab
govt

phys C
chem
calc BC
stat
macro/micro econ
psych

and except two they are all self studies :-(

mzlover, if you are a hs student and have been a resident for 2 years in california then all of your course fees are exempt, you still have to pay for your own books though

I took classes at two cc’s and it was the same procedure in both places
