Studying useless??...

Can anyone help me? Everytime i read through or skim an ACT review book, i get disappointed because i know all the review material and the techniques. However, I recently took the April ACT and got a 24 and want to go increase but the review books dont seem to help because i kno most, if not all, of the stuff in them.

Can anyone tell me what i should do to increase my score with this dilemma?
Should i just take the practice tests in each book, including REAL ACT’s BOOk(Total = 26-30 tests) and go over all the right and wrong answers? How many points do you think one can increase taking as many practice tests as possible?

I NEED TO DO GOOD OR I WONT BE ABLE TO GET INTO A DECENT COLLEGE…
IM DESPERATE PLEASE HELP!!!

thanks

practice practice practice.

Hi i am a new member and I really need help on the ACT. I want to get into the UMKC 6 year Med School program, but I know I can’t do that with a 26 and a 3.9 gpa. So It is summer break now and I study relentlessly ( about 5 hours a day for it) and I don’t know what to do. I need a 30 at least.

ok, i see ur situation, the best advice i have for u is to practice a lot. more importantly, use smart books such as the real ACT (helpful for practice tests) and the Princeton Review. THe Princeton Review will really help u on every single secton and will definitely boost ur score, but u have to read it and study it thouroughly though before u take any practice tests. ALso, take practice tests with test-day timings, but if ur not ready for that, then take individual sections, its what i call a “piece by piece” test. as soon as ur done with one section, go over ur mistakes and find out WHY u got them wrong and how to fix them, this is probably the most important step to getting a high score. Then when u have practice enough, start taking real practice tests with real conditions and see what u get, if you got lower than expected, then see what u did wrong, and correct ur mistakes.

good luck

Overall, pretty tedious. A lot of time. but totally worth it.

Hey thanks for the help. I have been doing that and I will continue. Anyone else have something to help me?
