Are you ACTUALLY going to put a Dr. Seuss book in there?

Keep the cat in the hat there, it’s funny and quirky. You don’t need to be super fcking intense about everything in your application, you have other books and magazines that show you do think and enjoy a good read. Admissions officers know that you clearly didn’t find the cat in the hat challenging, but that you simply enjoyed the book, and actually if you analyze it carefully, the book is a work of genius. Genius or not, leave it in there, it adds color and personality to your app. I’m a senior at Columbia, have friends who work in admissions and I’ll bet that Columbia at least, will look on this neutrally or favorably.

Also it’s spelled Basterds with an e not an a.

It’s also with a “u,” so Inglourious Basterds.
