Stuff worth SPLURGING for

Monthly housekeeper.
Keurig/K-cups
Amazon Prime
Personal trainer
gym membership

@missypie We use the San Francisco Bay k-cup available on Amazon. Biodegradable and less expensive than grocery store with Prime.

Yes, @kandcsmom, we buy the San Francisco Bay k-cups (eco-pods), too! They are $.36 - $.37 each, which is a wonderful deal.

Fitness coach/trainer

Dining Room furniture

Nice hotel rooms

Anything my mom wants

Real maple syrup.
Front ten rows or so at the theater.
Live music.
Good skis and good fitting ski boots.
Truly waterproof/breathable raincoats.
Quality mountaineering gear.

For us, Amazon Prime is a requirement, not a splurge.

Treating mom right is never a splurge.

Agree that Global Entry @ $100 for 5 years is money well spent!

Quilted Northern toilet paper.

Prime - but be careful with Amazon, they’re geniuses at sneaky services you pay extra for without realizing it

My smart phone - don’t laugh, but I just got my first one (finally!) and the ease of sending texts – the primary form of communication with my children - is worth the expense alone. And I haven’t even tried the GPS!

Knitting supplies - yarns can be expensive, but cheaper than psychotherapy and just as (no, more!) effective

Roku - I love binge watching shows while knitting

Origins VitaZing sheer tint moisturizer - for me, a vastly better alternative to foundation makeup

Good quality percale cotton sheets (not expensive if you find them at TJMaxx)

Plants, veggies and flowers - in the summer, when I’m not in the garden, I’m on the deck enjoying the garden. The entertainment value of gardening alone makes the annual summer splurge on gardening stuff worth the investment. And the garden looks better & better every year.

Monthly yoga pass
Cleaning service
Good haircut and color
Flattering eyeglasses

College degree.

I am very particular about my bed sheets and pillows. I don’t hesitate to spend $ on them. And sunglasses too- but I have owned the same pair of aviators for about 3 years, so well worth the price. I wear them almost every day.

Am thinking of splurging on lasik eye surgery rather than getting glasses. Lately I am not seeing as vividly while watching TV or at the movies.

Monthly color for my gray hair. I’d go every three weeks if it wasn’t such a time suck.
Belonging to a country club with unlimited golf and social opportunities.
Blue Apron delivery service. Get it half dozen times a month, resolves the what to make for dinner question and has made me use spices and recipes I never would’ve tried on my own.

Hair color, yes!
Housecleaning every two weeks, so that I make myself pick stuff up that often.
Gym membership.
Charmin TP.
Brawny paper towels.
Trips to meet up with online running friends, like @MomofWildChild.

Heck, yeah! You spend one third of your life laying on them.

Orchestra seats to a Broadway show.

Netflix

Yes to quality shoes! Especially for running.

Spendthrift!!! I just can’t do this, but I enjoy

Nespresso - every single morning I marvel at how wonderful the coffee is

Hotels in the middle of the city we’re visiting, so we can walk out the door and be in the middle of the reasons we decided to go there

Keratin treatments

Heated car seats

Bags, and more bags
Riding in front.
