what is the difference between a spore and a gamete in plants?

From what I remember… the spore is haploid and divides by mitosis to make the haploid gametophyte. The gametophyte then produces gametes, which are haploid, and they join together to make the diploid sporophyte. The sporophyte then produces haploid spores, by meiosis.
