stupid idea for a personal statement?

I’m applying to business schools and currently working on my personal statement. My idea is, instead of using headers to separate the different sections of my ps, I use a relevant quote to separate the sections. Let me give an example…

In the section where I would go over my diverse upbringing and what-makes-me-unique-will-contribute, I would use the quote:

'You are the sum of a unique equation.'—Benvindo Cruz

My mother came over from Vietnam over 30 years ago blah blah blah…

or going over my career aspirations…

'This is your world. Shape it or someone else will.'—Lew

Once I earn my MBA from [school], I want to return to the world of publishing and…

Does that make sense? Or are they going to be like “what the hell is she doing?!”

To clarify, I have a Journalism degree so I am coming from a background other than Business…and from what I’ve read, I do want a ps that will “stand out” but not be gimmicky…

Welcome, Kim! It sounds like you’re applying for a MBA program. If so, I’d recommend asking your question on this forum: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/business-school-mba/</a> where you will find posters focused on MBA applications. I think you will get a better answer there. Best wishes to you as you go through the applications process.
