Stupid question: Can I get financial aid post-matriculation

Here’s my situation. I’m a student at a pretty good public university in the midwest. I’ve done very well so far, but I transfered from another school last year because there’s no way I would get in as a freshman. As you might imagine, my high school stats hardly make the financial aid office fall out of their seats. Since I’ve been here, though, I’ve done very well. My GPA is a 4.0 and I had a 28 ACT composite/12 writing. I’ve been involved numerous ECs as well.

My question is: Do you think my school would grant me merit-based grants/scholarships based on my performance? Is this even possible?

Most schools have scholarships for continuing students. You need to check with your school and see what they offer. Generally the really good scholarships are for freshmen as that is who colleges are trying to attract. Also you may be a bit late for applications for this year. But again - check with your school.
