<p>I am choosing courses for the fall semester and I saw this on the schedule:</p>

<p>11557 DIS 201 T 12:20 PM-1:10 PM</p>

<p>My question is: what are sub-courses? When I sign up for this class, do I choose one of the times marked “LEC” as well as one of the “DIS” courses?</p>

Lec = lecture
Dis = discussion</p>

<p>For this class, you will not only have lecture with professor but also discussion section usually with a smaller group led by a TA to discuss the course material in detail.</p>
