Sub-par test scores and grades but leadership roles, etc.

I don’t have the BEST grades and my test scores aren’t commended level but I am involved in numerous extracurricular activities, I have a lot of volunteer work, I also have a handful of leadership roles and I am wanting to major in the Theatre Arts. What are my chances of getting admitted into NYU?

Compare your stats to their Common Data Set, section C. ECs count but grades and scores are much more important.

Nothing makes up for grades, but NYU isn’t a super selective school, so who knows.

While grades are generally the most important part of an application, if you have to audition, that will play a large role as well.
