Subject tests ending?!?!?!?!?

Is it true that subject tests are ending from next year. It is rumored that these tests are not effective enough and are being replaced. Any clues on this or how the new system will be. Was it a waste to take my tests this year. I took USH SAT 2 as a freshman and got an 800. was it worth it

I don’t think they are. Where did you hear this?

Well they started registration today. So go check and see.

Untrue rumors.

Why would they kill the goose that lays the golden egg? There are about 750,000 subject tests given annually. Add up the costs($23 to register and either $23 or $12 per exam) and then the money made forwarding scores to colleges and you can figure out why they aren’t going away anytime soon…

the only change in the SATs next year I’ve heard of is that you’ll need to send them a photo of yourself when registering.

^Yeah what’s the point of that?!

/\ Likely it’s a response to the cheating scandal in NY and on Long Island where students paid others upwards of $3500 to take the SATs for them. With minimal security checks, you had teen age boys taking the test as a girl and vice versa…

cheaters? .

Yeah cheating scandals like the one jandjdad describes promoted the change

possible. but i didnt mean to say that they’re ending. i meant that the complete or partial format is changing as that they way registration works and the format and whatnot.

The format might change, they will probably ask for a picture of you or something like that.

But if they were to end them, they would tell like 5 years in advance, otherwise it would be unfair

So the SAT went up in price. But only by $1
