Subject Tests for a Poli Sci Major

Hi I am in a senior in HS, and going to a community college next fall for two years. I have never taken a subject test before and planning to study political science/international relations. Well it be okay for the colleges I’m applying just to take USH and world history subject tests?

Those would be good tests to take relevant to your major; however, don’t just leave it there. I strongly advise taking a third test in a subject area in which you excel, as to show a larger breadth of knowledge. Naw mean?

@clarinetjwk - Really? Just delete your post while you’re ahead…

A language would really help. 700+ is adequate, since they are so hard.

I’m not good with Spanish, even though I took it for more than three years haha. Is Math 1 worth taking and is Bio E/M difficult to self study?

@clarinetjwk what’s so funny about political science???

“Political science and government majors study the systems people set up to organize their societies, from neighborhoods to nations.”

It is strange that you try to be smart, but come off as arrogant and ignorant. A lot people who major in history became history teachers and many English majors write for newspapers or teach. You shouldn’t scrutinize someone’s choice in a major because you are not interested in it. People have their own lives and want to live it the they want to by not comparing their own interests with other people’s. Also, not allowing other people to influence their decisions in life such as family members. If someone wants to major in fashion and wants to become a fashion assistant or designer, let them. If someone wants to major in dance, let them. If you look down upon someone’s choice in a career and try to belittle, you sir are the “stupid” one. By the way, you don’t even know what political science is…HA

This conversation has nothing to do with the SAT Subject Tests so ■■■■■ another thread.

Amen to that.

Math I has a very harsh curve. More colleges like Math II because it covers pre-calc material. Math II has a very nice curve. So spend some time on Math II.

Bio has a really harsh curve; you can only miss like 2 or 3 and still get an 800. I would say it’s kinda hard to self if you aren’t taking AP Bio. Not too hard though,

I was planning on a double major with Japanese and computer science as a minor. So I am doing something new with my life.

This is really an irrelevant discussion.

@suprafresh Do you know a little Japanese already? From where do you learn? IIIInnnnteresting…

Although clarinetjwk does come off as a ■■■■■, I have to agree that I put scientists and mathematicians before political “scientists” and historians. He does make a point.

I’m doing computer science too, as I already said that before. Computer science helps a lot of people, so don’t give me “you are being selfish” crap. I have been doing community service and trying to change my violent, low-income community without a cynical thought. Don’t scrutinize me for majoring in political science or anything else for that matter. Yes I believe in math and science before politics too, but I’m MORE interested in politics for my own personal reasons.

Do you think art majors or business majors are trying change or save the world?

@Risubu my friend is half Japanese and her mom and dad have been teaching me Japanese for awhile. Also, I listen to a lot of Jpop, but that doesn’t help as much haha.

Can we stay on the subject of SAT II tests please!?

I don’t know if you are being sincere or a ■■■■■

Try going on the CB site and trying some of the Jap questions. If you understand at least a sentence out of your Jpop songs, you are on the right track. i’m taking the French subject test soon, yet I cannot understand more than like one line without a transcript (im okay without subs). There’s a reason why I’m taking just the reading.
