So I got a 35 composite (36 R and 36 W) and 9 essay on the ACT and a 1570 total (790 CRW) and 16/24 essay on the SAT (new). I want to apply to a particular Ivy under the early admission program, but I don’t know which test to send. They’re essentially equivalent, right? But the writing on the ACT is a little higher than the writing on the SAT, I think. Part of this is I’m unsure how much weight the school will give to the essay section (the Ivy I’m applying to does require the essay). Any advice, guys?
Whenever you send both an SAT and ACT score, colleges will use in determining admisison that test they believe is better for you. Thus, as long as cost of sending is not a serious issue, send both and let the college choose the one to rely on.
