Submitting apps early

Does turning in my app early help me in any way like being put in a different group? or is it just so I might find out if i got in or not earlier?

It’s worthwhile to turn it in early, if only to get one of theose pesky things out of the way! They can notify of acceptance pretty early – my son was notified in January, I think. Anyway, early enough that he didn’t complete applications to a couple of other colleges, since UW was higher on his prioritized list. Also, if you want to apply to Honors (very competitive, but supposed to be fabulous if you get in) that deadline is pretty early, so you may as well do both at once.

I definately agree to turn it in early. My daughter was notified of her acceptance on December 15th. She then was notified of her acceptance in the Honors Program on January 26th. By the way, the Honors Program is an outstanding program, but apply to that program as soon as possible and do not wait until the final day that they are due. Good luck!
