Hello, I am unsure whether or not I should submit both my ACT scores to Princeton for REA. The first time I took the ACT I got a 33 (with a 10 in writing) and the second time I got a 35 (with an 8 in writing). Princeton “encourages the submission of all scores” but I’m nervous they will either see the 33 badly or the 8 in writing badly.
Suggestions?
Are you international ? They want all but they say will only look at the 35. Says highest composite.
Most schools don’t look at the writing score at all. Didn’t even know you could still do it.
So submit the 35 or both. You’re not going to be eliminated based on either.
But they want both so that’s what’s I’d give them.
Submit the 35.
The writing score hasn’t been considered for years.
I’m from CA. So basically I can do either? It seems a little contradictory to say they only look at one but would like to see all.
Yes but they say they prefer to see all. They are not contradictory at all.
Okay, sounds better to give them what they prefer then. Thanks!
And you can submit them now even if you haven’t submitted your app yet?
I’d be more willing to accept this advice if Princeton allowed self-reporting; they don’t. I’d also be more willing to accept it if ACT didn’t charge a separate fee per test date.
Unless the OP has a fee waiver, I’d just send the 35
Yes
I was planning on doing the superscore that sends my highest and any additional tests in the superscore. I think it’s the same price as sending a single test.
Unless things have changed, Princeton does not super score the ACT.
No they don’t superscore. But by sending a superscore I think they will be able to see both my highest composite as well as the other test.
I think they send the highest of each section. So don’t do that.
Call and ask. You needn’t give your name.
You’re not going to get eliminated bcuz you send a 33 but if they say just send the 35, do so.
Or go to a virtual session and in q&a ask - if you only take the highest why do you want to see all ?
