Should I send my second ACT score to UT even though I submitted my application in October? I haven’t gotten accepted into my major yet. I’m auto-admit, but applied to CNS as a Bio major and the honors program.
The first score I sent to UT was a 33 composite, but a 6 in writing (got nervous). The second score I would send is a 32 composite, but a 8 in writing…
Congratulations on your excellent standardized test scores. I can’t give you a firm recommendation one way or the other. However, you should consider the fact that UT does not superscore either the ACT or the SAT. Thus, there may not necessarily be any benefit in submitting the second ACT score for admission purposes. On the other hand, the determination of whether you are accepted into a specific honors program maybe a more holistic process and your improved score on the writing section might be helpful. Hopefully someone here can provide some answers on that part of your inquiry. In any event, here is the official spill from the UT admissions website regarding multiple score reports:
http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/freshmen/admission/testing
“You may submit as many score reports as you like. If you submit more than one score report, we will use the score from a single test date that will benefit you the most when your application is reviewed. We will not, however, combine scores from different test dates (a critical reading score from one test date with a mathematics score from another test date, for example) to come up with a better score.”
Great! Thank you! Does the scholarship committee do holistic review as review well? is it too late to submit my second ACT SCORE for honors review?
paintsplatterla My son was auto-admitted in September and still doesn’t have a major. He applied into Environmental Science Geography track as his first choice, and Biology as his second choice. Good luck and I hope you get your admission to your major soon!
