subsea/offshore petroleum engineering

basically my question is whether I should take co-op or not. I am currently in my second year of petroleum engineering. I am wanting to get into offshore, subsea systems dealing with offshore platforms etc… I know I need a masters for this. however, my question is whether I should I take coop during my undergrad or not. I am Canadian and I have only seen 1 job posting on the coop placement board for subsea engineering in Canada. I am currently 29 years old. I don’t want to be in school for ever and with adding another year of coop into my undergrad, plus the 2 years of masters program puts me graduating at 34 years old, when i could potentially graduate at 33. I work experience helps but I am ready to get on with the rest of my life etc. I need to decide soon as application for coop starts soon, does work experience as a reservoir or drilling engineer help me with offshore engineering?
