<p>Prof Quinn Mills: Will speak on how Harvard has reached the pinnacle.</p>
<p>PETALING JAYA: Why is Harvard University consistently cited as the top university in the world in virtually all rankings? The reason, according to Harvard don Professor Daniel Quinn Mills, lies in the university’s faculty and students. </p>
<p>It is also respected because of the accomplishments of its graduates. Harvard attracts students of exceptional potential and they are also key to its reputation,‘’ he said. </p>
<p>Prof Quinn Mills will deliver a lunch talk at the Globalising Higher Education conference organised by The Star and the Asian Centre for Media Studies on Aug 18-19. His topic will be What makes Harvard the world’s top university. </p>
<p>Prof Quinn Mills is the Albert J. Weatherhead Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. </p>
<p>The conference will discuss strategies to achieve high-quality university teaching and research, and aims to be a forum to consider how Malaysia could help promote the globalisation of Malaysian higher education. </p>
<p>The conference will be opened by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak while Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed will deliver a special address on Public-private higher education institutions partnerships. </p>
<p>Former Hong Kong University vice-chancellor Prof Dr Wang Gungwu will give the keynote address, What makes a university really good today. </p>
<p>The fee is RM700 per participant for early birds (until July 14) and RM800 for those who register thereafter. It covers materials and refreshment… </p>
