<p>I appealed my *own * contribution (I’m an independent) by sending a letter and an appeal form stating that I quit my job and that I would not be receiving the same income once I was in school. My efc was changed from 6,000 to 0.</p>
<p>How did you show that you are independent?</p>
<p>I’m over 24, so I automatically qualify as an independent.</p>
<p>Yea, I did a parental contribution appeal and got it substantially lower.</p>
