<p>White male, first generation, Virginia, awesome!</p>

<p>SAT I: M 600, CR 780, W 670
SAT II: US 720, Spanish 700, Lit 690</p>

<p>WGPA: 4.2, school doesn’t tell us UWGPA
Would be around 4.6 w/o freshman year (ah… freshman year :()
38/562 - number 18 has a 4.5, for reference (my personal goal is to break the 30 barrier, but we’ll see…)</p>

<p>Sr. year first quarter grades - A+, A+, A, A, A, A, B+. I sent these grades to my EA colleges.</p>

<p>I’ve taken all honors except math courses throughout HS.</p>

<p>I think my essays are pretty great - I’m definitely a narrative writer (and that’s exactly how I wrote all of my essays) with an interesting voice.</p>

<p>My recommendations are great, too. I chose teachers I admired for their dedication to their respective subject and to the students.</p>

<p>I’m only going to list leadership positions for my ECs. I had my GC explain the abysmal choice of clubs at my school, and the fact that the two I attempted to start were denied by the administration.</p>

<p>These activities take up a lot of my time. I also held leadership in the Obama campaign as a precinct captain, which ate up three whole months of my life (but would do it again in a heartbeat). I included a short essay about how my experience with the campaign really changed my view of my community and the power of the individual.</p>

<p>I attended the Virginia’s Governor Language Academy this summer. </p>

<p>I’ve won some awards at MUNs, high school stuff, nothing really significant. </p>

<p>I’m also about to start working at one of the state biochemistry labs part-time. While I don’t plan to major in science, I still love the stuff. </p>

<p>I want to major in either philosophy, public policy, or international relations. </p>

<p>Well, you are in at your safeties. Match for chicago, unc, uva, and william and marry. Duke, Rice, and Georgetown are somewhat reaches but you should get into at least one I think.</p>

<p>I think that you have an excellent chance at U of Chicago. My child applied EA with a 640M and 760 CR, but had a 3.7 GPA. I’m not sure what the GPA would be if weighted. She had a similar amount of ECs. Anyway, she was deferred EA, but admitted regular decision.</p>

<p>I sincerely doubt you would be happy at Va. Commonwealth U in Richmond.</p>

<p>Your stats are way way too high.</p>

<p>My advice is find a better safety.</p>

<p>Pensive - I would actually LOVE to go to VCU. I love the city of Richmond so much. I’m applying to the honors program at VCU, which has a lot of great benefits.</p>

<p>Plus… I can’t really find any safeties I would like to go to. Any suggestions?</p>

<p>I think you have great chances at Rice and i also think you’d be a pretty good shot at GW. Your pretty much a straight shot at the safe schools :)</p>
