So I signed up for Calculus this year and due to ignorance and difficulty on my part, I am now at the point where staying the class is pointless. I’ve emailed my teacher and he said the best thing to do now is to withdraw and take it at a later time.

If I do withdrawal, it’ll give me 59 transferable units.

This isn’t a major pre-req course.

What should I do / tell the admissions office?

I didn’t get any acceptance letters yet.

Do you think they’ll let me take a summer course to make it over that unit mark?

I called the admissions office asking about having too few units (58/60 in my case) and they said that they don’t base their decisions on that. If you are missing them they said that they could let students make them up over the summer. And I’m pretty sure those don’t include AP scores.

haha. Thanks for the replies all.
I’m going to call the schools first thing tomorrow when they open, and depending on their responses, it will determine whether I’ll cram an online class into my already busy schedule, or somehow be allowed to take a class over the summer.

I never took any AP tests.

Haven’t heard back from any UCs yet, so I hope they don’t reject me on the spot. That would be horrible. hahah

haha. i have the same situation. the ap classes somehow got transfered to units so that i have one quarter unit short. so i’m gonna enroll in a 1 unit class.

i’m also on my first year and completed igetc, tap. ccc work is fairly easy if u had some tough high school experience where competition among the smart cool people for higher sat, ap, etc. is super high.

I think I’m going to send out emails tonight to all the UC’s regarding my schedule change. I hope this won’t cause a major dent in my acceptance.
