DD will want to know why I am eating a peanut butter and pickle sandwich off a paper towel, but I might not be ready to discuss it.
Oh no! That’s so sad. I hadn’t realized she was ill.
I’ll need to go get a QP at the drive through in memory of Kinsey.
Oh so sad. I wondered why I didn’t get one of her books this year! I’ve gotten one every year since her first book…
End of an era!
Very sad to hear this.
She did write a book this year (“Y is for Yesterday.”) According to Ms. Grafton’s daughter, there will be no Z book. In her words, the alphabet now ends in Y.
What a bummer. Whatever happened to Kinsey’s neighbor, Gus? Did Kinsey ever see Dietz again? I’ll never know.
Sorry to hear this. I was a fan of her series; she was a great storyteller. I read Y when it came out this summer. Too bad there won’t be Z.
Oh goodness…I’ll look for Y.
Guess we will, all, have to use our imginations for Z.
I had not heard! I just got home, with S is for Silence playing in my car. I’m so sad that there will be no Z, but Kinsey will always be a part of my life. I eat pickle and peanut butter sandwiches but not quarter pounders. My thoughts go out to her loved ones.
I just started Y is for yesterdalast night. My oldest will be sad. She always bought the latest as soon as itncame out. We live local to the novel locations and it was always fun to picture where Kinsey was.
Oh shucks! I enjoyed Kinsey and the complex characters Grafton created. I will miss her! I hadn’t known she was ill or died.
Oh no! I loved those books and always wondered what SG would write AFTER Z. Now we’ll never know.
In my head, the never-written Z would have Kinsey and Dietz getting back together. Gus will live long enough to see their baby, then die peacefully in his sleep. Maybe it’s best that she didn’t try to push it to write Z… now we can all finish the series the way we would want.
I’m still looking for a little black dress that can live wadded up in a backpack and emerge wrinkle free in an emergency.
Who is Gus? I don’t remember him but did love the energetic baker/LLord Henry.
Took a walk in “Horton Ravine” this afternoon.
I learned from her about the little black dress that could be scrunched and stuffed and still shake out fine.
There’s a quote from her daughter about Grafton shunning the use of ghostwriters. Good girl.
I’ve read most of her books. It is kind of fun to read books that don’t have “electronics” as part of every day life for the characters.
Sad. I love her books.
I loved Kinsey, and her scrunchy black dress, and Henry and Rosie, and all her badassedness. Not a fan of peanut butter and pickle sandwiches, but I think I might go for a Quarter Pounder, and glass of chardonnay!
@HImom : in T is for Trespass, Gus is Kinsey’s neighbor who hires a sociopath to take care of him when he is injured.
