Suffolk versus Pace

They both seem so similar in different cities. Thoughts? And what is the most merit anyone has been offered?

Suffolk is likely to be less expensive, all in, than Pace, which would make it the better value since they’re peers.
If you calculate (tuition fees room board) - (scholarships, grants), what’s your result?
Any other acceptance?

Suffolk is right on the Boston common, right in the middle of Beacon Hill so very pretty area of Boston, right near public transportation- smack in the middle of the city. And they guarantee housing for at least the first 2 years. I am only familiar with Pace’s campus in Westchester so I don’t know much to compare with their NYC campus.

What do you plan to study?
Are both comfortably affordable?

She’s only a junior and these are safety schools for her but both in locations that she loves that will likely be more affordable than other other choices. I was just curious what people say.

She will study business, likely marketing or international. She’s a junior so I’m just trying to get some ideas. We won’t know for sure until all is said and done and she sees offers but I’m hopeful for these to be a belt o come down to closer to NJ in state tuition. These are safety schools but in locations she loves and possibilities to get good merit.

I’m not sure there would be lots of merit - because of the location acting as an incentive, I don’t think they discount as much as many in their academic tier.

Note that nowadays for marketing statistics or data science is an important tool to have for positive job outcomes. As a result, the ideal HS background for marketing would be math through calculus+stats (in college statistics will be calc based) as well as graphic design and other creative courses.
For international business a minor in a foreign language as well as 1 semester or year abroad (if year: study+internship model) would be necessary, with a focus on one regional area that should be well known. For critical languages look up Critical Language Flagships.

Have you looked a the two college’s websites to see what merit awards are offered?

She can always apply to both and see what each college offers.
