These schools are on my short list. I’m interested in a career on Wall Street and was wondering if anyone could give my insight into how these schools place into those type of careers. I know neither are really “target schools”.
Thanks in advance!

What do you mean they are not your “target schools?”
How old will you be when you apply?
Where will you live? Are there legal limitations for students your age?
Have you done any research about internships at these schools, possible age requirements etc?
Baruch a good school btw.
@twogirls They are not really target schoos for front office investment baking positions.
I was asking about the quality of these institutions but you still somehow found a way to make this about age. No, there are no age restrictions. Please do not make this about age.
Baruch places well on Wall Street.
P.S. Occasionally, I see Baruch listed as a semi-target on various websites. I have never read of Suffolk as being a semi-target, however.
Baruch has a very good reputation. I can’t speak for Suffolk.
I mentioned your age because some colleges require applicants to be at least 16 years old on the day they fill out the housing application. If you don’t plan to live in the dorms at Suffolk (I believe there are dorms) then your age doesn’t matter.
@Publisher That’s good to hear about Baruch. Do you know if they place well into front office positions? I knew they places into BO positions well.
If you’re Macaulay or Baruch honors + take general education seriously* + have a high GPA (3.75, 3.8) + participate in relevant ECs, then yes you can get into FO positions.
Apply for the dorms but be aware that 99% are commuters so you would have to join a neighborhood Y or clubs as you won’t be able to just “hang out”, with your classmates; life can be quite lonely as an OOS students compared to a residential college.
Suffolk won’t get you where you want to be.
Baruch has an excellent reputation in business and in New York.
Your question sounds like a fantastic one for the career office. Don’t be afraid to contact the career office and identify yourself as a high school senior who is interested in applying to Baruch and who has questions about placement into investment banking as a career. You may be able to get a phone call; you may get answers via email.
You’re a ~15-year-old applying from OOS with a high school diploma earned by completing 3 years of school in 1 year through an online program. NYS doesn’t accept online diplomas from their homeschooled students, and they don’t permit students to complete more than one year of high school in a single academic year. I wouldn’t count on the NYS Board of Regents allowing any NYS college to consider an application that violates its rules.
Given the choice between Suffolk and Baruch, I think Baruch has more of what you want. But make sure you apply to some safeties in your home state in case you aren’t a match for what they want.
this is just out of curiosity from reading some of your other posts, but I’ve always wondered how homeschooled people get grades? Like, are there standard tests that non-homeschooled people dont have to take or is it like your parent would grade your stuff? Sorry that this isnt super relevant to your post!
@MeepMorp1 My classes were done on Florida Virtual, I have exams and teachers graded my work.
ohhh ok so online school. I thought u meant homeschool.
lmaooo I j read your rlly long thread. Do you have an update on whether you got in anywhere?
wait now im on page four of the thread. Was the whole thing just a massive ■■■■■? If so, kudos.
