Other: Nothing other special regarding admissions. White, both parents went to college, middle class. I go to private school and I’m not sure on ranking as there are 25 in my senior class.

If I missed anything, ask.
I’ve been accepted into Winthrop, but I’m looking for reach schools.

Intended major? What can you afford?

I’m looking into a business or marketing major and potentially a minor in Spanish. As far as money goes, I’m not really sure. Less expensive is better, but it’s not the most important factor. I’m looking to apply for as many scholarships as possible.

I’m a bit late now, but it can’t hurt to try.

You might want to look into Drake University, they still have open apps and offer what you are looking for. If I were you I would look at the SuperMatch tool, it is very helpful.

“As far as money goes, I’m not really sure.”

Sit your parents down tonight and have The Big Money Talk. Until you know what they cn pay, and what the colleges will expect them to pay (these may be two very different things), you really don’t know how deep you are going to have to dig to find a place that matches your family budget.

Are you interested in an urban environment? You might consider Pace, if you haven’t missed deadline for their Pforzheimer Honors College. They are not highly competitive, overall, but they offer a very nice package for students as qualified as you, and it’s a very good school for business majors (adjacent to NYC financial district). They’re on rolling admissions, overall. I think that DePaul also has an Honors College, which you’d probably qualify for. Unfortunately, most colleges require students seeking merit scholarships to apply before the general deadline. Fordham’s deadline for regular admissions is 1/15/12. They have an excellent business program - your GPA might be below average, but your test scores are well above, and so it’s probably a “match” for you.

University of Michigan might be a good reach for you. The application deadline is February 1st so you still have plenty of time. Your ACT puts you at the 75 percentile and your GPA is competitive enough. Give it a shot if you have the time.

Sorry - but your GPA is not “competitive enough” for UMich - real reach IMO
