Suggest some "reach" "wheelhouse" and "safety" schools for a student like me

<p>I am from Skyline High School out of Sammamish, WA
Don’t really have a preference as far as size of school
Just want to hear some suggestions from people and see where I should look researching
I’m a white guy, dad went to Stanford, mom went to Mills but I hear legacy doesn’t help unless your parents are huge donors so that’s probably not important.</p>

<p>3.83 unweighted (through junior year)
IB MM1 Calculus IB MM2
IB Physics
IB Business and Management
IB Psychology
Honors English (2yrs)
Honors History (2yrs)</p>

<p>34 ACT (35math,35science,32english,34reading)</p>

<p>National Merit Finalist (not officially but after paperwork and such (230 PSAT))</p>

<p>4 yr varsity cross country/track
xc captain
track captain
will run in college unless I go to a big D1, fast enough for DII,DIII, and small DI (but not a priority so if I go to a big school I just won’t run in college)</p>

2nd in Area in Sports Entertainment Team Decision Making
Finalist at State</p>

<p>COMMUNITY SERVICE: 100+ community service hours in sports related stuff (mostly Special Olympics, also local triathlons, Seattle Marathon etc.)</p>

<p>WORK: 3 years working as a Youth Soccer Referee, Certified in three different associations, worked over 150 games.</p>

<p>MUSIC: Quit Piano but played for 10 years if that is worth anything</p>

<p>So that’s a basic overview, if I could get some suggestions from people that’d be awesome, I’m looking to expand my college search and I’d love to get some feedback!</p>

<p>You don’t know any colleges you’re interested? You live in the NW, would you be ok with going to the east coast or the south? That’s how you can start looking for schools. </p>

<p>Reach - Stanford
Match - Berkeley, USC, lower ivies
Safety - U of Washington</p>

<p>No I do! at the moment I am thinking of applying to Stanford, USC, Santa Clara, Claremont Mckenna, UW, and Gonzaga but as far as the east coast, I don’t really know where I’m looking. I’d rather stay out of the south but I would be perfectly good with going to the east coast</p>

<p>In that case I think you’ll have a good shot at schools like Cornell, Brown, Hopkins, NYU (Stern if you like business), Georgetown, UVA, and Rice.</p>

<p>Duke and Penn would probably be low-reaches but worth a shot.</p>

<p>Oh cool, I thought Georgetown, Duke, and Penn sounded cool when I was looking around, but that’s interesting to hear. As far as business, I know UVA, Penn, NYU are standouts, do you know much about the programs at those other schools? (haven’t decided on a major but I’d say I’m leaning towards something business related)</p>

<p>Yes, Penn Wharton and NYU Stern are EXCELLENT. If you want to go business, they are better than the Ivies. They also have stricter admissions compared to all the other programs, but you should be good for Stern.</p>

<p>Georgetown is a great school. I might not get in but my dad has a big job there and we both love the school. He’s doing all he can to get me in haha. Business program is pretty good, but it’s known for it’s international programs.</p>

<p>All Ivies are wall street targets. NYU Stern and Penn are targets. UVA is a semi-target, same with GTown. Rice is a huge target for Houston-area firms. JHU is not really a target but still has a good business program.</p>
