Hooks: None, really. I’m Hawaiian and would be a first-generation college student. HELP!

Also, in Seattle, there are internship opportunities with the Seattle Times (<a href=“Home | The Seattle Times”>Home | The Seattle Times) and Seattle Post-Intelligencer (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/pijobs/). Plus Seattle’s sports scene is buzzing these days with the Sonics drafting Kevin Durant and trading for Jeff Green, the Mariners making a push to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2001, and the Seahawks just two years removed from going to the Super Bowl. Plenty of great opportunities in Seattle.

UW and UC’s are very competitive OOS. They arent really realistic unless you are talking about UCSC/UCR/UCM. UCI and UW are not likely. I would look at University of San Diego, University of San Francisco, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Santa Clara, etc. These are all private. If you are looking for public, I would consider lower UC’s UCSC, UCR, UCM, and Cal State Schools. Also consider U or Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State.

Sheed30, I wasn’t actually comparing the addition of Jeff Green and Kevin Durant to losing Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. How the Sonics fare this year (they still won’t be that good for another few years) doesn’t really have much to do with sports journalism. By the way, I’m a 503 kid who could care less about the Sonics when I’ve followed the Blazers since I was a kid.
