Hi! Looking for some products and ideas to light up a largish room sufficiently to work at night. No other light in the room.

Is LED better in this sense - will it be bright enough?

This is for a home office, thanks.

I don’t really know much about LED lamps, but that won’t stop me from pontificating (see below).

My son has this: [BASISK Floor uplight - nickel plated black/white - IKEA](<a href=“Products - IKEA”>Products - IKEA) Because it lights the ceiling as well as providing downward light it gives pretty even light in the room which I like. He just has one lamp in a pretty decent sized living room.

If you need to read as well as use a computer you might like something like this: [url=<a href=“Products - IKEA”>Products - IKEA]J

There is a cheap (very) one at Walmart that my college senior has used for her apartment. Two lamps; can be used independently, brushed metal…Tons of light

I think it was 12.99.

Not cheap, but wonderful for reading and actually quite intense in a local area: [New 24w Floor Lamp | Floor Lamps and Lights - OttLite | Functional Lamps and Lights](New 24w Floor Lamp | Floor Lamps and Lights - OttLite | Functional Lamps and Lights)

I have one for reading by my reading chair. When my brother came to visit a few years back, he liked it so much that he bought one for himself. High flattery, because a) he’s about as cheap as they come, and b) he reads a LOT.

I second the Ottlite! They are not cheap, but they work very well. I do a variety of crafts from smocking to scapbooking and cardmaking and I would not trade my Ottlite for anything!
