Ok so im taking the SAT’s OCT 4, here’s my current superscore:
M650
CR530
WR560

I have been working my ass off to get CR up to a 600, but for some reason i cant get my math up to a 700. Im actually very good in math and am currently (and thriving through) calculus, but for some reason i cant seem to raise my math grade. Any suggestions pertaining to how to improve?..for the people who got a 700, how many questions did u omit and how many did u get wrong?, suggestions please

Last year, I was one of the best students in AP BC Calc at my school, but I couldn’t get anything above a 750 on the SATReasoning.

I suggest you go back and look at the mistakes you tend to make. If they are just carelessness, or you simply weren’t paying attention, or your thought process was unclear (those were my problems), here are my suggestions:

carelessness: just do more problems (generally trickier ones) to get yourself on your toes

unclear thought process: check work and WRITE DOWN all your work NEATLY

didn’t pay attention: sleep more and have some chocolate =O

hahah thank u, have some more chocolate? whats that all about?..i have the CB test prep book and i have been killing that, any suggestions for helping study for the math besides doing all the practice problems

also go with protein for breakfast and snack. Lots of studies on that. Problem is you often don’t know when your brain is not working right because you think your fine.

Try to do some timed practice tests (actual tests). You need to be quick and need to be able to check your answers. Your score will depend on how few you miss and the curve is hard because quite a few people don’t miss any. Also, remember that the advanced math you are taking now is not what’s being tested

yaa, so for the people who got about a 700-750, how many did u omit? and if u know how many did u end up getting wrong…
also i thoguht of a strategy please tell me your input, ok for athletics you know how its always best to warm up your muscles before a game? what if i did a section of a practice sat before i went, would it stimulate my brain more or would it just lose the amount of time ill be able to focus?

My son was in the 600s a year ago, but now is reguarly over 700 up to 750 on practice tests. I think just doing lots of practice tests is the way to go, some timed, some not. First, know what you are missing. Then, work on speed. The one big change for my son is that he no longer has to omit any of the questions, because, one, he knows the material better, and two, because he knows how to pace himself better, giving him time to go back and check his answers.
