Hi, I will drop by library tomorrow, wanna borrow a non-fiction to vary my knowledge.
Anyone know any good non-fiction(any area) that can also improve my reading skill?(for SAT)

Well, Bill Bryson is a great writer. I don’t know if he is classified as non-fiction though, his travel books are mostly inbetween I guess… His book “A Short History of Nearly Everything” is purely non-fiction. You’ll both learn a lot (facts and good writing) and laugh at his way of explaining things.

“Don’t Shoot the Dog” by Karen Pryor is very interesting. Its not just a dog book, its about positive reinforcement and shaping in everyday life. Definatly worth reading.

There are so many good books out there, its hard to suggest any without knowing what you’re interested in. For improving reading, the best thing to do is read anything. Junky novels will help you improve your reading skills. For years, I only read “The Sweet Valley Twins”. Not exactly high quality books… But that wasn’t what was important. The thing that mattered was that I was reading something. If you’re interested in and will enjoy reading a good non-fiction by all means do, but don’t force yourself to read it just to improve your reading skills for the SAT. In that case it would probably help you more to read a novel. That was a bit off topic, sorry. But Bill Bryson is great!
