Suggestions for Alternative Music Summer Festivals

My violinist-daughter is going on two short school-sponsored musical trips this summer, and is looking to break pace with her usual classical summer festival routine by studying some alternative musical styles. In the past she has studied at places like ENCORE, MAW, Bowdoin, and Aspen. She wants to explore other musical styles, but has had little opportunity to do so.

She is looking at Mark O’Connor’s Berklee fiddle camp June 25-29 and will also be away May 24-June 7th, and July 6-18th.

Does anyone have suggestions for alternative-style programs suitable for an advanced conservatory-level, adventurous violinist in late July/first two weeks of August?

It’s too late for this year but how about considering some of the more ‘out there’ New Music festivals like Bang On A Can’s or some of the new music festivals in Europe? I don’t know if there are any such festivals where the app deadline hasn’t passed but I’m sure she could find out doing a bit of exploring.
