Suggestions for apt in Cincinnati

Does anyone have a suggestion for where to live in Cincinnati? My son is single, 27 and about to start a medical residency at the University of Cincinnati. He is looking for something fairly close to the university but not too near all the undergraduates (parties/noise, etc.). We have to find something fairly quickly so I am hoping for some good ideas from fellow cc’ers who might be familiar with Cincinnati.

Thanks!

I would suggest he look for something in the Gaslight area of Clifton. Cool older homes there that are often broken up into apartments. He also might want to check out Hyde Park or Mt. Lookout, but those are a bit further away. Will he have a car?

Clifton in general in cheaper and closer. Lots of students. Hyde park is nice, but a commute.

Here’s one: [Large 1 bedroom - 3379 Morrison PRELEASE FOR 2012](http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/apa/2868937700.html)

One thing he should look for is off-street parking. Good luck!

There are town houses directly across from the hospital/med school. Not the nicest area in terms of restaurants etc, but the complex is relatively new. The secretary of the med school used to be very helpful with this sort of thing, she was somewhat legendary for helping the students and incoming residents. May want to give them a call.

My D (a UC student) says that a lot of the med students live in The Village at Stetson Square Apartments or in the Gaslight area.

Will he be visiting anytime soon? I work at a similar sized U at the medical school and there are flyers with places to rent plastered on the bulletin boards in the academic buildings!

Will he have a car?

Ideal price range?

Yes, he will have a car and his price range is hopefully under $1,000 rent per month.

Thanks for all the great ideas! I love cc.

Congratulations the residency! A friend’s daughter goes to UCin for musical theater and loves it!

We live in Cincinnati, and DS did undergrad and grad school at UC, living on and off campus all 6 years. I have emailed DS for his suggestions.

A good friend did his residency at UC back in the 80s and lived in the Clifton gaslight district.
