Suggestions for College and Major?

I applied to Stanford REA but I know my chances of acceptance are essentially zero so help me find somewhere that can give me everything I want about Stanford.

I’m looking for an intellectual school with lots of academic flexibility, ie: design your own major, no core curriculum, explore lots of classes if you like or just hone in on subject. I’m hoping for a university where students can have lots of discussion with very smart professors. My favorite classes are usually based on the teacher, not the subject because I talk with the teachers so much.

A school with lots of research opportunities or internships would be nice. The value really matters. Really looking for lots of bang for buck.

Here are my stats:

33 ACT
3.998 UW GPA
APUSH 5, AP CHEM 3, AP HUG 5, AP LIT 5
Currently taking AP LANG, AP Physics, AP CALC-AB, AP Art History.
Debate President and HOSA competitor
Ultimate captain 2 years
Eagle Scout

I’m also wondering how to pick a major? I enjoy writing, history, debate, reading and designing. Looking for a major that will challenge me in new ways everyday when I begin work but will also pay well and teaches a hard skill.

Though you might find some of these colleges to be as selective as Stanford, look into Amherst, Hamilton, Vassar, Williams, Grinnell, Brown and the University of Rochester for a few possible matches.
