suggestions for learning a little Greek?

Another thread (on learning Korean) mentioned the online program Duolingo, which seems terrific, but does not offer Greek.

My D is marrying someone who has some Greek relatives who will be attending the wedding. While these guests are fluent in English, I thought it would be nice for me to learn some very basic Greek to greet them. I have borrowed some CDs from the library but this language is much more challenging and less appealing to me than the Italian I picked up prior to a trip to Italy.

Suggestions? THANKS!

You really only need a handful of words for a greeting. And honestly, anything more than that and they probably won’t understand what you’re trying to say anyway. I speak two other languages and really find it annoying when people try to use the five words they learned in high school to speak to me. They usually pronounce them badly and I don’t know what they’re trying to say. Makes it awkward.
