Hi:
Last-minute request. I would appreciate suggestions for possible post-grad (gap. year) conservatory options for violinists. DS just graduated high school and is deferring admission and would like to study abroad. I missed many deadlines for Fall 2024, so I wanted some suggestions about possible master classes or advanced violin opportunities with a dorm setting, ideally. Europe, South America, Australia or here in the States. TYSM.
You might want to also consider looking in Canada. Quite a few Canadian universities are very good for music. Toronto and McGill might be the most famous and have the largest music programs, but multiple others are good (UBC, Alberta, …). If you want to consider a small university in a beautiful (and relatively safe) environment, Acadia University in Nova Scotia has a very good music program. McGill has the feature that it is located in a very interesting largely French/bilingual city.
No idea if they are full but looks like interlochen does this and they do an excellent job preparing students for college/auditions
Thank you for these suggestions. I really appreciate it.
