about a 3.85 with the easiest course load ever. I’m taking 2 APs senior year, and I took mostly honors/accelerated in the past because I was lazy </p>

3 yrs of cheerleading and coaching, key club member and officer, National Honor Society, Teenage Republicans, youth group, People to People trip to Europe, award for Respect, spirit award and National Champion award with cheer</p>
<p>Other stuff that might influence things:
attendance on transcipt! (missed 20 some days each year), only took 1 year of french and 1 year of Latin</p>
<p>I will major in Biblical Studies and Political Science. My top 3 schools I’m considering are Christian (Wheaton, Grove City, and Covenant.) I think I should apply to more schools to play it safe though. Any suggestions based on all this?</p>
<p>Given that you have had only level 1 of foreign language, you may be limited in your choices, since many schools want to see level 2, 3, or 4 of a high school foreign language. Some schools will accept sufficiently high standardized test scores in foreign language tests in lieu of high school foreign language; this method is mainly for native or heritage speakers of a foreign language.</p>
<p>What you can afford to pay is a big factor in what schools you should consider, in terms of their cost of attendance, need-based financial aid, and merit scholarships.</p>
<p>Wheaton is evangelical Protestant, Covenant is Presbyterian, and Grove City is non-denominational but somewhat associated with the Presbyterian denomination. If you are looking for a religious environment and curriculum, then such denominational considerations may be important to you.</p>
<p>Are you looking for easy in college? None of the three you have listed have reputations for being easy. Was your missing 20+ days for travel or health reasons? If so, I’d mention it on apps. If not, it might need to be addressed in a “why I’ve changed” sort of way.</p>
<p>Others to consider might be Geneva, Messiah, or Eastern (all in PA, so I know about them from other students).</p>
<p>Thanks for your help guys! The reasons I missed so much school weren’t usually health related. I’m not willing to draw attention to it by writing an essay, so I’m probably just going to hope other stuff can make up for it. I scheduled interviews so maybe I can win them over with a good impression of who I am (not someone you’d suspect would skip school or be lazy haha). As for language I think I’ll try explaining how I took French 1 in eighth grade so it was technically 2 years. And maybe I could say how I plan learning Hebrew and/or Greek with Biblical Studies. It’s pretty weak but since I can’t test out it’s my only chance. I know these schools are all a bit of a reach but they’re the best fitting theological positions for me out there (well, at least Wheaton and Covenant). Do you think I’d my scores, gpa, and extracirriculars would at least get me into Covenant though? I just can’t get excited about these other schools…</p>
<p>I think you have a good change for Covenant; however, I would have safeties (both financial and academic) lined up. You never know what college is willing to pay big bucks to have a student like you at their university. There are a few things working in your favor: a SAT that breaks 2000 and EC strengths that match your passions.</p>
<p>If you are looking for other colleges, Hope in Michigan seems to be really great from what I have heard and researched. It is religiously affiliated and has pretty cool programs across the board. </p>
<p>The college is part of the Colleges that Change Lives book by Loren Pope (you can see some of its attributes on the CTCL site: [Hope</a> College | Colleges That Change Lives](<a href=“http://www.ctcl.org/colleges/hope]Hope”>Hope College – Colleges That Change Lives)). Because you have a very nice SAT score, they will love to have you- probably with financial reinforcement. Hope is also highlighted in 3 or 4 other college books like Cool College for the Hyper Intelligent, Self Directed…</p>
<p>I hope that I don’t sound too much like I’m backing the college, its just that I am looking for a college that suits me (a new senior) and have been coming across Hope often. Unfortunately, I am not looking for a college with religious affiliation. Good luck!</p>

<p>sagacioustud- Thank you for suggesting Hope! I looked into it and it seems very nice. It has solid academics, financial aid, and positive reviews. They don’t have Biblical Studies, but the political science program was impressive and I liked their ministry majors as well. Best of luck in your search too!</p>
<p>Definitely look into Azusa Pacific in California. It’s gorgeous and kids seem to really like it. It’s a Christian school with required church hours and is overall very religious. They offer degrees in political science and biblical studies.</p>
