<p>To piggyback UVASystem’s post…do some students in the distinguished majors programs with very high GPAs fail to get the recommendation for distinction, high distinction, or highest distinction:

Students who complete a Distinguished Majors Program with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.400 are eligible to receive their degrees without distinction, “with distinction”, “with high distinction”, or “with highest distinction” ***based on the recommendation of their thesis committee.
