I applied and have not received a decision for fall 2019. I did apply early action and and fully aware of their process releasing decisions for Early Action and it can come any time and their promised date was December 24 however via post card it might be pushed a little bit. I did apply for Fall 2019 however i am just average within their fall statistics. I also did check YES for optional summer start. If i do get deferred or declined, is it possible to apply for summer? I know for other schools you apply for summer or fall and when applying for fall there is an option to check for summer but is that just the same as applying directly to summer? if i did apply directly summer would it transfer into fall just like the optional fall application summer start? Thank You!!

If you applied for fall with summer start option checked, that means that you’ve already applied for summer in effect. They will evaluate you for fall FIRST, and only if you are denied fall will they consider you for summer. If they deny you for summer, then that’s all she wrote for UP campus for the major you chose.

In that case, there are two options…you can change to a less competitive major (DUS, Liberal Arts, some Ag majors) and try again for fall or summer at UP. Or you keep your major and go to a commonwealth campus. If you try for reconsideration and are still denied, you can go to a commonwealth campus and do the 2+2 program (depending on major) and will still graduate from UP campus - that’s what 60% of all UP grads do in fact.
