summer academics vs. summer service

<p>In your opinion, which do you think looks better on a college application, attending a summer program at a college or doing a summer service project?</p>

<p>Specifically, any guidance you could offer in my personal case would be appreciated. I am torn between attending Equinox at Northwestern or going on a one week mission trip to Chicago through my school (I don’t live in IL, the similar locations are just coincidental) and getting a job for the rest of the summer. I cannot attend both because not only do they overlap but I need to train for my senior tennis season, as I will be team captain this year. However, I am very interested in attending Northwestern. I’m really having a tough time with this decision.</p>

<p>I guess the program itself won’t interest the college much, but what you learn and make you grow will.</p>
