Summer activity goes with which school year?

<p>The one preceding or the one following?</p>

<p>My son is applying to a school that has you select the year for an activity. He was a lifeguard the summer between 10 and 11 and again between 11 and 12.</p>

<p>Does the experience for the school year (10th grade) begin with the summer or the fall?</p>

<p>I think summer because he has been promoted at the end of the school year, but want to make sure my thinking is right.</p>

<p>Why not simply state the year, rather than the grade?</p>

<p>It is a check box with choices: 9, 10, 11, 12. For lifeguarding, he would check two, but I don’t know if it would be 10 and 11 or 11 and 12. </p>

<p>I can see logic either way.</p>

<p>Leah, The summer between 10 and 11 goes to 11. My son’s counselor said so.</p>
