Hi There, anyone have experience with NJIT or Catholic University summer program in
Architecture for high school students? Alot of other programs are either too long or too short but these seem to be about right around 2 weeks. Have a rising senior interested in architecture, and looking for a program that gives a gentle introduction to architecture. Thanks !
Can’t speak to either of those programs but will say that a summer introduction course helped our son a lot in validating the direction he wanted to go for applications.
Depending on the goals of your student, applying to Architecture programs can be a much different research and application process than to many other programs. It’s a steep learning curve but there’s a lot of people on this forum with knowledge if you end up with other specific questions.
Thanks. Summer program experience is to get a taste of what architecture is like, not looking at intensity at this point and still plan to look at smaller liberal arts colleges for college applications in the fall- probably more interested in architectural studies or some combination of design rather than a direct BArch program
I do not know your proximity to the city or if you want your child to travel into the city but look at CUNY-City College which has a great arch program
