<p>I am thinking about taking classes at Yale this summer and I have a few questions
1.Is it hard to be accepted for their summer program?
2.Does it do a lot when applying to Yale for EA or RD?
3.Are the classes really hard? Are they a lot harder than AP classes?</p>

<p>EDIT: I should specify that many of my friends have done Yale Saturday Seminars and summer courses at Yale.</p>
<p>I being accepted to Yale’s program just as hard as being accepted to Brown’s program because I was accepted last year for Brown.
Also, the classes aren’t harder than APs, I would of thought that Yale had hard classes?</p>
<p>Yale = no harder than a typical university in this country, especially for its summer programs. I know nothing about Brown’s program, sorry.</p>

<li><p>No. Just fill out the app, write why you want to go, get decent recs, and voila! You’re in.</p></li>
<li><p>No; it’ll show schools that you can handle college-level work, but applicants with great stats applying to Ivies most likely can handle college-level work.</p></li>
<li><p>It depends on the class you’re taking and the prof. True for the summer program, and true for college in general. The summer courses are typical college-level classes, but the normal 8 weeks worth of material is packed into only 5 weeks for the summer term. So the classes might be longer and it’ll seem like you have more work, but the material that’s covered in the class isn’t any more difficult than it would be during other semesters.</p></li>

<p>EDIT: I may be wrong, but I don’t believe Brown’s summer program offers credits to those who complete the courses… Yale does. So Yale’s classes may be harder than Brown’s. Anyone correct me if I’m wrong.</p>
<p>I did the whole YSP thing, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life.
Not only for the whole college classes thing, but it was seriously amazing in all aspects. Well most.
Go!!! GO GO GO… it’ll really give you a taste of Yale if you want to go there, or a taste of college and the freedom being a collegian entails… I recommend it.</p>

<p>I took too many classes this summer. I took MCD Biology, the lab, and Developmental Psychology.</p>
<p>I had class EVERY day from 9am - 10:30 am and 1pm-4 or 5 pm, depending on whether i had psych or bio lab.</p>
<p>It was hard for me since I was constantly reading and studying…i shouldn’t have done that…but I did manage B’s</p>

<p>Don’t most college kids take 4 courses a semester? </p>
<p>That’s pretty cool if you are currently taking 4 or more APs…it’s kind of like you’re already in college (academics wise)</p>

<p>Anyway, last year we were housed in Branford with no airconditioning.</p>
<p>However, next summer, the summer students will be in Ezra Stiles/Morse…and I am pretty sure those have airconditioning. I’m not 100% sure though. Check it out.</p>
<p>wow some buildings still don’t have air, i’m in Florida and after the hurricanes we lost power for two days and I thought I was going to die from the heat.
Also, should a resume just list what we have done with a very brief sentence describing it, like:</p>

<li>National Honor Society-10th and 11th grade- the club is for students that have excelled academically.
2.Math Honor Society-11th grade- the club is for people that are talented in math, and through the club I tutored students and competed in math competitions.

<p>Ivyguy, I live in Florida also and lost my power also for 9 days (complete hell). I was also up in New Haven for a summer program and didn’t have any AC. It’s hot if you don’t have a fan, but it’s nothing like Florida heat, so you really don’t have to worry much.</p>
<p>is that how you write a resume?</p>
<p>that looks more like an activity list than a resume, which is usually more formal, I think. Also, you wouldn’t need to explain NHS since it’s such a well-known and common club.</p>
<p>I don’t know if you get air-con, but Morse and Stiles are mostly comprised of singles. It makes up for the fact that they might not be as pretty as the other colleges.</p>

<p>Is a PSAT score of 191 considered bad for summer decisions, because they ask for it, am I now dommed??? :(</p>
<p>Doing a summer at a school doesn’t help you gain admission to that school at all. I remember the yale admissions guy saying that they think you’re sucking up and so it doesn’t help you</p>
