Summer Courses to impress high schools

I wanted to know what are some good summer courses to take that would show that you are doing something productive and not just wasting your time. I am looking for courses specifically for computer programming and Community Service. Any places I could start off with?

I’ve heard of JHU courses but I’m not ready to go away for 3 weeks, yet they have so many interesting topics.
I don’t want to attend a summer “camp”, I’m looking for a proper and detailed course.
Is their any community service work or program I can join over the summer?

Just look at what your community offers in terms of service. No one here can tell you what community service program to do because we don’t live next to you.

And in terms of summer courses, CTY has online options. Also look at your local community college.
