Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@Kyotoraz Thanks for the reply.

I just checked again for the second time today and MyStatus recently updated in My Documents that they got my transcripts. It’s just 100% the waiting game for me now.

Anyone touched base with admissions today?

Hey guys I got admitted into COLA today. I sent in my final transcript on the 18th and got my acceptance this morning!

Congrats @decorus !! :slight_smile:

@decorus wow that was fast! Congrats! Mind posting your stats?

I got into Economics under COLA so maybe thats why I heard back so soon.

Stats: 4.0 gpa with 36 hours (I did have one W but it was for a class that wouldn’t transfer over)
Applied for: COLA 1st Economics/ 2nd Undecided

Please don’t take my word for this, but my accept/decline due date said its on May 29, so Im assuming most of you guys will know within the next few days, and it’s likely that some may find out in June (last year’s discussion board), but I doubt anybody would have to wait past July.

Good luck everybody!

congrats @decorus that was fast.

Congrats @decorus , your wait finally paid off :).

Congrats @decorus !!
@ecollin I did. I spoke with the senior admissions counselor and was told engineering decisions would be going out June 1 or shortly after – exactly what decorus was alluding to. The wait is killing me! Now that the semester is over, time seems to be moving very slowly.

Not knowing if I will get in or not is making me scared and anxious. I hope I get into McCombs but realistically I probably won’t. Though I hope I get into Liberal arts at least.

I checked MyStatus this morning and got accepted!!! As of yesterday they hadn’t even received my transcripts so it was really fast for me but that’s probably because of my major… My original major was music, but I found out in March that I didn’t get accepted for music so I switched to Women & Gender Studies! My gpa is a 3.52 and it was basically automatic acceptance since it was almost immediate and one of my essays was about how I only wanted to be a music major! So if you’re just looking to get an acceptance letter, then Women & Gender Studies might be the best option! Good luck to everyone :slight_smile:

@Toastyful You will be fine. I’m trying to get into McCombs my junior year because I knew that externally transferring was not as easy as internally transferring. If you were originally shooting for McCombs, I’m sure that nonetheless you’ll have a good slot in Liberal Arts because that college is generally big

Thanks to everyone and I wish you all the best!

@rhtransfer I’m looking into minoring in WGS! Maybe we will cross paths if you stay in that major.

So does anyone know any good available places for housing? Pretty sure west campus is booked and if not it will be pricey.

@Geekytheatregeek I’m not sure if I’m going to attend UT based on the sole fact that I wouldn’t get the chance to be a music major until Fall 2016 :confused: I was thinking about double majoring but its so up in the air!

@Kyotoraz
If you have a friend currently attending UT Austin, you could do what I’m doing. Which is piggy back off his priority and hope for the best. Otherwise, you could look at 2400 Nueces apartments. May be a bit expensive, but my brother who stayed there for a year recommends them.

My app recently turned into completed. It only shows my first choice though, since from what I’ve heard you can’t be undeclared as a transfer student your first semester anymore.

my app has been complete for two months as well and still haven’t heard back, moody is taking foreveeerrr :’(

The living situation is just a pain in the ass tbh. I’m going to orientation July 9-10 and staying a couple days to find an apartment I can afford hopefully. Everything in Austin is so much more expensive than what I’m currently paying.
