Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@Nayplaya14 how do you see your transfer GPA?

@MyLonghorn that’s what I’m trying to figure out :slight_smile:

@csteel21 what options in COLA were you given?

@Nayplaya14 You could only see the GPA when you filled out the Transfer Scholarship Application. I think it closed on April 1st and now you won’t be able to see it.

Ahh that makes sense. Thank you! @cdctransfer

So the college of engineering already started handing out rejections am I correct?

yup engineering has sent out rejections and friend of my friend got into engineering last week also

@UTW8ingNH8ing yes I believe so

It looks like most of us who haven’t been accepted yet are gonna be getting choices of other majors

@stevenjp You say that with so much confidence. Do you know a high number of peeps that got accepted to Cockrell?

All of us are competitive but it’s just our luck that we applied to the most competitive year ever for transfers…

I’m cola and I’m still waiting. I think they’re waiting to see who accepted their cola offers from engineer majors before they accept more cola applicants.

Hey guys! I just got accepted to my second choice major (English), not my first choice (RTF). Stats: 3.961 GPA, two letters of rec, pretty good essays (I guess?)

@summeroo jesus 3.961 and still didn’t get in ? it seems RTF is harder than engineering to get into

@TransferUTA Most of the COLA majors were available, except for Economics and a few languages I think

Hey guys, I’ve also been following this but have only posted once or twice. I’m also still in review for COLA first choice psychology BA and second choice school of social work. Im going crazy and seeing all of these people get accepted into cola and not even applying for it is making me more nervous!

@summeroo Wow, rejected with a 3.96 to RTF? I applied to RTF with a 3.65 but I’m still in review…

@MyLonghorn what major in coe did your friend get into?

Creative degree admissions are so weird because it’s based off of portfolios and what you’ve done and what you can add to the department rather than GPA. I think the transfer GPA for COFA a few years ago was like 3.4? But if you look at the resumes of the people that were accepted, they tell an ENTIRELY different story. THOUSANDS of hours working on shows. Plus so much is determined by auditions and interviews. There is so much uncertainty.

Admissions in general are weird.

@UTW8ingNH8ing i think my friend said he was biomedical engineering
