Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@summeroo Congrats that you heard back from Austin. Sorry you didn’t get into the major you wanted D:

Shariq WHO GOT IN MAN? HEH

OK thanks

@13rker there’s never been a high number of people accepted to Cockrell, they’re insanely selective and many applicants end up getting accepted to the university but not to engineering. Seen a ton of those so far but only a couple acceptances early on

@UTW8ingNH8ing can you reply to my private message pls lol

Who are u?

I’m not here for dating sorry

@UTW8ingNH8ing how do you know my name…lol stop messing with me

Yeah I agree it sucks I didn’t get into RTF but my friend who is in Moody right now says she knows several who have done internal transfer easily. Decision is due by the 15th of June though

@stevenjp So when you say "It looks like most of us who haven’t been accepted yet are gonna be getting choices of other majors " you are just being pessimistic? [you haven’t heard of many acceptances, so you can’t really say that not having heard=rejection/second or third choice acceptance ] I rather stay positive and assume that no news so far is a good thing, I may be wrong, fair enough, but no need to be alarmist considering how little information we have.

for engineering its kinda ironic … how this year is so difficult yet the internal transfer GPA’s are lowest the have been in 3 years or so

@summeroo Yeah, I called and talked to an advisor and she said as long as you keep your GPA up internal transfer into Moody isn’t that hard.

At this point I don’t care if I don’t get into my majors, I just want to know if I am accepted or not. My orientation for Texas State is Friday and I don’t want to pay to enroll in my classes without hearing from UT. Do y’all think we will hear some more decisions tomorrow?

@gigs94 I’m not sure, but I’m on the same boat where I just want to know if I’m accepted or not.

Probably not

Lol, it’s kind of a bummer telling people I got in but not for RTF. They’re like, “yaaaaaaay! …oh. but still. yay!” kind of how I am feeling now too. I was pretty sure that was going to happen anyway though.

@summeroo Well all that matters is that you got in. I’m sure internal transfer shouldn’t be that hard, but hey. You got in.

@Toastyful this is true! Getting in is what matters most. Honestly with how new and hot-mess-ish the communications program is at my current institution, a COLA degree from UT is probably just as useful. In fact, communications is in the college of liberal arts where I am anyway.

@summeroo congrats. How abt a different thread abt all housing informations?

Does anyone know how common it is to receive an offer of admission to something other than your 1st/2nd choice major? I don’t remember seeing it on previous threads
