He should talk to his professors, pay a visit to career services, ask the seniors in his department what they are doing after graduation and how did they get their jobs, etc.

I.e. all the normal stuff!

In addition to @blossom’s suggestions: use LinkedIn and Indeed (and Handshake if his school uses it).

Unfortunately, many summer 2024 roles at big name/national firms are already closed but it’s still not too late if you cast a wide net. He’s likely to have more luck with local/regional firms.

Truth is, it is kind of late. But, yes to all the above, and good luck in the search.

It’s late, so at this point - network, network, network. Is there anyone in the family or a friend or acquaintance who knows someone who works in that field? Interns do drop out or change their minds. My daughter’s BF scored a finance internship as a junior last summer, by networking (he talked to someone that his mom knew who put him in touch with a recruiter), when an intern dropped out at the last minute. There was a learning curve for him, but he convinced the recruiter that he was a quick study and would work hard. They liked him so much that they extended the internship to be part time remote for his fall semester.

There are plenty of analytics internships still available. Your S should be doing all of the activities that people have suggested.

Does he have a resume and cover letter ready to go? If so, he can start applying for jobs today.

Make sure his resume is reviewed/approved by the career center.

Sign up for any on campus/virtual handshake opportunities.

In addition to using contacts/professors/schools and seeing where other students are headed, I’ve seen many kids gain success from indeed - but it’s a #s game - set 45 minutes a day and apply to 3 internships - so yes, 90 over a month.

It may be late -but there are still jobs posting.

And the career center should know of the companies hiring regularly from your school.

Best of luck.
