Summer Plans?

Hi everyone

I’m a Junior this year and I’m not sure what I should do over this summer. Can you guys leave some comments on this.

I plan on going premed for college (something related to sciences)
Current GPA: 3.8-3.9
SAT: 2060
Chinese Female

Extracurriculars:
Violin/ Orchestra
Tennis
Fencing
Chamber Ensemble Club, Science Bowl, Academic Team, etc… (the usual average asian)

Possible Choices for the Summer

 1. Go to Ireland to play with a youth orchestral group (11 days)
 2. Summer School for Physics
 3. Go help out at a nursing home in Taiwan
 4. Intership at a hospital in NJ (if possible)
 5. Work

I’m not sure if any of these events I want to do will help out for my college applications. I need something that “stands out” in my apps because of my ordinary porfolio.

Colleges: UC Berkeley, Cornell, Stanford, JHopkins, NYU

you probably don’t need a portfolio if you’re gonna major in the sciences
to me, it seems like working+studying to raise SAT would be the most effective
interning at a hospital as a hs kid basically means that you did cleaning duties and nothing really related to medicine, and going premed at college is open to everyone (even to some exotic pottery major or something)
if ireland thing will take 11 days, then you can do that and something else too (unless it’s in the middle of summer. then that’ll give you some problems with work)
but yeah looking at your sat score and i’m guessing you live in NJ, you might want to raise that up
