Summer programs and full scholarships!

Hey guys! So, I was just accepted into Penn’s Startalk program with a full scholarship. Do these programs look good on an application? Does it look even better with a full ride? I will be going regardless, as I am actually interested in the language. I am just curious.

The scholarships I have seen for summer programs were based on need, although acceptance into the program was based on merit. What was your scholarship based on? How many other students got scholarships and were they full or partial?

I am guessing that just getting accepted, participating, being evaluated highly and having something to show for it will be more important than getting it paid for by scholarship even if it’s based on merit, but I don’t know that for a fact. Keep in mind that for some programs, everyone gets a full scholarship.

Even if the scholarship is based on merit, colleges will be evaluating you on roughly the same prior accomplishments as they scholarship committee used.

So, congratulations, but focus on doing well in the program.
